🏡 Homeowner Tip of the Week: Dealing with Elm Seed Bugs

Just noticed tiny red-and-black bugs piling up near your windows and doors? You're not alone—elm seed bugs are starting to invade homes as they search for cool, shaded areas.

To keep them out:

  • Seal entry points: Check for gaps around doors, windows, and foundation cracks.

  • Reduce attraction: Sweep up elm seeds from around your property—this is their main food source.

  • Vacuum daily: keeping numbers down will help keep you sane!

Of course, if they’re becoming a nuisance despite your efforts, King Pest Solutions can help with targeted perimeter treatments that keep elm seed bugs out by offering tailored, ecofriendly treatments with a guarantee! 970-250-5882

Reuse, reduce, and recycle: How Enstrom Candies turned its trash into treasure

On June 18, the first Western Slope pickup for the Circular Transportation Network took place. Enstrom Candies gave nearly 1600 pounds of hard-to-recycle materials, which would otherwise be sent to a landfill, to the Circular Economy Development Center.

The center can use the plastic materials from Enstrom in their asphalt mix, creating a circular economy that reuses otherwise useless materials. “The great thing about the circular transportation network is we’re able to take those harder to recycle materials that your major haulers wont pick up and bring them to the businesses that are using them in their process and need more of it,” said Mike Ritter, economic development director for the Buisness Incubator Center.
